iD Filestore Migrator Tool

The iD Filestore Migrator provides a tool for Intranet DASHBOARD administrators to convert their iD installation between different filestore types.  File system filestores are typically used for smaller iD installations and database filestores for larger installations or those utilizing load balancing.  This utility allows installations that have outgrown using a file system filestore to use a database filestore instead.  Currently the only conversion supported is from a file system filestore to a database filestore.

You can check which type of filestore your Intranet DASHBOARD installation is currently using by following these steps:

1.       Log in to the administration interface of your iD installation using a superuser account.

2.       Use the menu to select the Administration à Utilities à Config Settings page.

3.       Select the Filesystem Filestore Type setting from the list.  The value of this setting indicates the filestore type in use as follows:

·          1 = File system filestore

·          2 = Database filestore

Instructions for use:

(Note: Your iD website will be stopped during the filestore migration process and automatically restarted afterwards, so please run this app at a suitable time for your site to be temporarily unavailable.)

1.       Use the instructions above to verify that your Intranet DASHBOARD installation is using a file system filestore.

2.       Download the iD Filestore Migrator app to your iD web server using the link at the bottom of this page, and unzip the exe file.

3.       IMPORTANT: Create a backup of your main Intranet DASHBOARD database.  This application does not automatically create a database backup so it is important that you do so manually in case of any unforeseen problem.  This application does not alter any files so it is not necessary to backup your iD file structure.

4.       Run the application exe file.

5.       Select the iD instance whose filestore you wish to migrate from the list displayed and click the Migrate button. 

6.       When the migration has finished close the application.
